Things that inspire me...

This is an old post but I am reproducing it here from my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Shantala-Palat/460458800701889?ref_type=bookmark
for it is about things that inspire my work

 They could be -:

1) A good novel that is full of twists and turns right till the end or a theme that contains elements of fantasy, magic or pure joys such as the description of everyday life. My faves so far has been Ruskin Bond, Alexander McCall Smith, L.M.Mongtomery and Erin Morgenstern.

2) Something that happens in the park where I go for my walks. There, a squirrel amusing itself or being entranced by the vivid colour scene of the flowers beds. One of these elements find a way into my work.

3) A line or sentences from a novel that creates the most beautiful imagery that can only exist in dreams.

4) And finally, an artist- it does not matter whether the person is a photographer, illustrator, printmaker or musician. Their work is enough for me to feel truly inspired and create new works!

Last night

Last night I dreamt I was in Adelaide once more. I entered that dear little house on Mcrostie Street. I walked through the rooms towards the golden sunshine. There I saw her sitting on the wooden boards, looking at the busy ants while the golden, golden rays draped her in her warmth and comfort. She turned around and we stared at each other. She was my mirror image....
